DIVING & SWIMMING
Environmental mindfulness is encouraging more people to dive into the ocean to learn more about the world they live in. For casual and expert divers alike, CALISTO and its dinghies are fully equipped for underwater exploration. Our captain, a dive master, will guide you on your diving expeditions.
The Andaman Islands, Myanmar and Thailand form an incredibly stunning and almost untouched archipelago give the fish a chance to grow to colossal sizes. The currents pulled in abundance of food source for the smaller fish, which in turn provides the predators’ ample food source to eat and grow. You are likely to hook in to some giants!
The Andaman Islands has a tropical rainforest canopy, made of a mixed flora with elements from Indian, Myanmar, Malaysian and endemic floral strains. So far, about 2,200 varieties of plants have been recorded, out of which 200 are endemic. The South Andaman forests have a profuse growth of epiphytic vegetation, mostly ferns and orchids. The Middle Andaman harbours mostly moist deciduous forests. The wet evergreen type, with plenty of woody climbers, characterises North Andaman.
About 270 species of birds are found in the territory; 14 of them are endemic. The territory is also home to about 225 species of butterflies and moths, including some of the larger and most spectacular of the world.
Whether you're inclined to recline and enjoy the view, or take off over the gunnels for waterborne adventures, CALISTO is prepared. The boat’s kayaks, water-skis and a sea-doo are finely tuned for nearby excursions.
